Today, I’m featured on Abandoned Cubicle with a guest post talking about my financial back story in depth and about how I ended up where I am today.

I first found his blog through listening to his episode on FIRE Drill Podcast back in November and have been hooked ever since. He and I agree that happiness is key, and that shines through his writing.

His blog is now one of my favorites and one I make sure to read every time there’s a new post. I’m honored to be on his site today, and I highly suggest you check out his blog in general.

Have a wonderful Monday! I’ll be back to my more or less regularly scheduled programming here on Friday with my Frugal Five.

  1. I really like that post and your story! Oh my, what a journey – it sounds like you guys have lived pretty interesting lives so far ashy and that it certainly hasn’t been easy! I also too felt that same guilt when I was forced to dip into my emergency fund, but hey, that’s what they’re for – emergencies! Overall it was a great post and I’m glad you shared your story with us!

    1. Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. And hoping to not have to dip into the emergency fund again for a long long time 😉

  2. I really enjoyed reading your story, you’ve really inspired me to try for a higher savings rate (and maybe even try to write about this on my old semi-abandoned blog).

    1. Thank you! And blogging has been a very rewarding experience for me so far (and the best way to stay accountable!)

  3. Hi Angela,
Thanks for such super kind words! I’m really glad you came across my blog and found it worthwhile. Your back-story really resonates. And it sure doesn’t hurt that you’re a fine writer and balance your wins with struggles.
Really glad to have a new blogging friend in the PNW. I’d be honored to return the favor if you ever need or want a GP down the road on your fabulous site!
