And like that, we’ve made it to a dozen years of marriage. The last almost two have certainly been interesting, and travel has been a lot closer to home, but there has still been some good adventuring that’s happened along the way.

Perhaps this next year will include more far flung travel? 2021, while no travel went further than a nine hour drive away, saw us leaving the state of Washington a couple of times for the first time since we touched down from our Iceland trip in January 2020.

12 Years of Marriage Adventures

Over the last year of marriage we:

Toasted our 11th anniversary with a take out meal at home while watching the virtual Plutus Awards (and celebrating my Community Builder award):

Headed out to the Olympic Peninsula for my birthday at Finn River Cider with one other family (bundled up to eat outdoors):

And went for a hike in Chimacum

Hiked Lord Hill Park and watched an owl on the side of the trail:

Ate outdoors at a restaurant with my parents after they got their vaccines:

Traveled to Forks for a soggy, green weekend – but stopped in Sequim for some sunshine on the way home:

Went camping up at Bayview State Park:

Got our VACCINES!!

Took the dogs on a trip to Leavenworth:

Left the state for the first time in almost a year and a half:

Spokane. Still in WA. 😜

Built a chicken coop and got chickens!

Spent a day on Jetty Island:

Visited Regina and her family on the Oregon Coast:

Marched for women’s reproductive rights:

Rented an Airbnb on Lake Chelan:

With our “bubble” friends

If you haven’t stayed in an AirBnB before, I would highly recommend it. We love the flexibility it gives us while traveling as a family – full kitchen, laundry, and extra bathrooms, and it’s usually considerably cheaper than a hotel, especially when you travel as a group. If you’re new to AirBnB, here’s a link for $65 off your first stay

Closed out the year glamping in the woods:

Want to look back at the previous years with me? I’ve been posting these since I started blogging: 11 years, 10 years9 years8 years, and a bit about marrying young.

Who knows what 2022 will bring at this point, but no matter what, I’m glad to have you by my side, my love. Cheers to a dozen.
